Reading The Six Sacred Stones by Matthew Reilly

And boy, is it a blast!

Stones is second in a planned trilogy of novels that began with Seven Ancient Wonders. It is Indiana Jones for the 21st century, against the backdrop of a Lord of the Rings-type battle between good and evil and dawning of a new age, set in the present day. Like its predecessor, Stones is full of exotic locations — Stonehenge, Three Gorges Dam, Abu Simbel — and frenetic, turbo-charged action, populated by impossibly heroic and impossibly villainous characters. There are some tender moments as well, those involving wunderkind Lily and the commandos who comprise her family.
